Ho Hum RV Park Carrabelle, FL
I’m not exactly sure why they named it Ho Hum. They say it’s because it’s delightfully “ho-hum,” meaning relaxed and unpretentious. I would have to agree that the vibe is definitely relaxed and small and it’s right on the water of Apalachicola Bay in the part of Florida they call The Forgotten Coast. Ho Hum RV Park is no-frills; however it’s neat and tidy, super friendly, super pet-friendly and is perfect for anyone seeking peace, natural beauty, and a true escape from resort-style crowds.
From the moment you arrive, the location steals the show. Many sites sit right on the Gulf (or Apalachicola Bay), with breathtaking views of the water, stunning sunrises and sunsets, and frequent dolphin sightings. The 250-foot private fishing pier sits in the center of the beachfront and is great for casting a line or just watching pelicans and shorebirds. The park holds the fishing license,so you do not need to purchase a state fishing license to fish here. There’s about 1/2 mile of natural beach for easy walks, shelling, and quiet relaxation with the sound of waves as your soundtrack.
Sites are gravel that is made from ancient oyster shells, adding that authentic Old Florida charm, mostly level, and offer full hookups (50/30/20 amp electric, water, sewer). There are tiered options: premium waterfront (Tier A), partial view (Tier B), and further back (Tier C). It’s big-rig friendly with pull-throughs available. Amenities include clean laundry facilities, restrooms/showers, free Wi-Fi (decent for streaming in many spots), cable TV, and a propane filling station. The entire Staff is fantastic - as friendly and helpful as can be. It is super clean and not a thing goes “undone.” Miss Pat, especially, we nominate her for the award for “The Hardest-Working Woman in the RV Business.”
What sets Ho Hum apart is the serene, adults-oriented vibe. There’s no pool, playground, or fancy landscaping, just nature and tranquility. The sites are well-maintained and very close to level. It’s pet-friendly (with rules for leashing and cleanup), and dogs are even allowed in the laundry and office areas. Everything is immaculately clean and tidy and the the area offers nearby exploration like Carrabelle’s quirky attractions or state parks.
If you’re looking for high-energy activities, this might not be it—but for unwinding with Gulf views, it’s hard to beat. Highly recommended for a laid-back stay; we’d return in a heartbeat.
