Baker Creek State Park
Quiet lakeside camping, beautiful waterfront sites, and full hookups for a surprisingly affordable price. We spent six peaceful nights at Baker Creek State Park on South Carolina’s Lake Thurmond and discovered a little gem worth sharing. Here’s what we loved, what to expect, and why we’d consider returning.
Mistletoe State Park Appling, Georgia
The water turned to hammered copper, the pines went black against the sky, and the whole campground got quiet, like everybody agreed to stop talking at the same time.
Givhan’s Ferry State Park Ridgeville, SC
Put down your phone and forget about the Starlink. Make use of your time at Givhan’s Ferry campground to hike, explore, paddle, fish or sit in the camper and learn Japanese origami or read a good book. I can’t imagine a prettier place to unplug.
